I’m lucky to live near Strathmore, its historic Mansion, the Music Hall and art exhibitions. We have beautiful grounds here, a lot of trees, a stream and a lake with bridges over them and even an island. It’s my favorite place to go for a walk. The Sir Lamp Post stands near Strathmore Mansion. It has a top hat, a monocle, a mustache, and a real yellow tie. It instantly lifts your mood and makes people smile. I drew it en plein air while wind played with the tie. I tried to convey the lighthearted atmosphere.
